Meter Reading - Analog
Follow these steps to read your analog meter:
1. Locate your water meter box and remove the lid with caution.
2. Flip up the top cap on the meter to view the display.
3. Make note of the full read that is listed in Gallons.
4. Observe and note the sweep hand. This will indicate the true one's placement as the last number in the full read is a static zero and will not change.
5. To calculate the usage, subtract a previous read from the new read.
Note: Analog meters will have a low-flow indicator that shows if water is currently flowing through the meter and will resemble a small gear that will rotate if water is running.
